For Ager ㅣ Dev Blog #1

In only one week, I have done quite a lot!

I started this journey by creating ideas and writing them on 10 sticky notes, and with those sticky notes I put them on the wall. I pointed my finger, spun it for 5 seconds, and stopped. It said, “Calm/ Forage Cooking Game - Relative Goal: Find Ingredients for a Sick Relative”. I thought to myself and said, “Some friends are closer than family, like my friend, Vinnie”, so instead of a relative being sick, the player character, Oscar, would help his best friend, Ager.

Now, with a set story, I had to work out the mechanics, and my finger must have been either lucky or incredibly smart because prototype was within my scope! For the prototype, I simply used the Area2D and KinematicBody2D nodes paired with the default Godot Icon. Finally with everything in order for myself to make For Ager.
I started on the art for the project, and WHOO! Might I say, this will go down as one of my best in this starting out phase! Simply by trying to replicate the Pokémon Red, Blue, Gold, and Silver Sprites and adding my own details, I created Oscar. Ager was also easy because I took Oscars head placed it under a blanket and added some hands, and got the Ager Sprite!

Finally, I coded the walking and its animation, and the before I knew it it was Saturday! I spent the rest of the Saturday with my mother, and wondered about what next month will bring. Thanks for Reading!
